Description: A leading global manufacturing business, employing around 300 people is seeking an Occupational Health Nurse to join their expanding team in Witton, Birmingham.
As an Occupational Health Nurse you will:
*Ensure a professional approach and manner at all times in providing the highest standard of care. *Manage others in an emergency situation, e.g. the sick/injured person, the first aiders, any other employees at the scene. *Maintain a high standard of documentation and record keeping. *Keep employees in work whenever possible, whilst maintaining a safe, sensible and realistic attitude to the job undertaken in the workplace. *Provide rapid emergency response to accidents/incidents on shop floor or any area of company property involving employees, contractors and visitors. *Assess and treat accidents at work, skin conditions and incidents. *Send urgent referrals to relevant outside suppliers – Hospital A & E, G.P.Surgeries, Osteopath/ Physiotherapist, Counseling. *Maintain the safe custody of emergency equipment and drugs. *Ensure Best Practice for all health care professionals, first aiders and emergency response personnel is observed to maintain Infection Control. *Aim to reduce absence due to sickness. *Assess and provide appropriate care for any sick employees. *Prepare confidential medical reports for solicitors re. Medical/Legal claims. *Regular observation of production working processes. *Report any health concerns to HR and/or Health and Safety Manager.
The ideal Occupational Health Nurse will hold the following skills and experiences:
*General Nursing qualifications, a Nursing Diploma, NEBOSH. *Occupational Health Nursing experience in a similar industrial role. *A full driving license is essential.
The department will operate from Monday to Friday with some flexibility to meet the needs of the business.
