Job Description:
Essential Functions:
1. Provide mechanical designs including determination of HVAC loads, equipment selection, duct sizing and routing, interior plumbing design, and preparation of mechanical drawings, based on local utilities and facility load and use.
2. Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of such equipment as centralized heat, gas, water, and steam systems.
3. Design, or supervise the installation of mechanical equipment, components, or systems.
4. Activities include programming, budgeting, project cost estimating, project management, drafting, planning, preparation of feasibility studies, construction management, support to utilities operations, energy and environmental programs, and fire protection.
5. Complies with health, safety, and environmental rules and procedures and performs work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment.
6. Ensures federal and local codes concerning health, safety, and environment are strictly adhered to in the programming, design, and construction of real property facilities.
7. Uses computers/computer software such as information management programs (e.g.,Microsoft Office), computer aided design and drafting (CADD) programs (e.g., Autocad), and project tracking programs (e.g., Microsoft Project or Primavera) to solve engineering problems and facilitate work.
Must be able to obtain a secret security clearance
Job Experience:
MINIMUM DESIRED
Education Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering P.E. license
Experience The ME shall be a professional engineer (if dual-hatted site manager) licensed to practice in the US and have a minimum of 5 years of design experience (10 years if dual-hatted site manager. Prior experience in military deployment operations is preferred.
Skills Microsoft Office, Autocad Microsoft Project or Primavera
Certificate, License, Registration, etc.
