SITE ENGINEER – Aluminium Works

Is leading Manufacturer, Supplier, Contractor and Sub Contractor for Aluminum, Steel and Glass works specializing in Curtain Wall Works.

JOB TITLE: SITE ENGINEER – Aluminium Works
DEPARTMENT: PROJECTS
REPORTS TO: PROJECTS MANAGER
BUSINESS UNIT: AALC
JOB LOCATION: DUBAI, U.A.E. or any location as required by the Company
Number of vacancies: Three
JOB PURPOSE:
To assist the Project Manager in completion of assigned projects related to installation of Aluminium and Glazing works by improving the effectiveness installation. Following day to day activities and programs, supervising all onsite activities and ensuring quality, cost effectiveness and timely completion of the project.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES of this JOB:
To plan, organize and execute the Aluminium, Glazing and Cladding works of the project within the budget and time limit and to the entire satisfaction of customer / client.
To liaise with the client / contractor and the processing unit for smooth execution of Aluminium works of the project.
To monitor and control the work as per the quality management system and identify issues in aluminium installation and immediately coordinate with Project Management Team & Quality department for corrective action before glass fixing.
To plan and execute the Aluminium works as per the required resources and schedule provided by the Project Manager.
To guide the Site Foremen, Charge Hand and Aluminium Fitters to carried out the job as per the specifications and shop drawings approved by the Consultant.
To inspect the Aluminium & Glazing works carried out by the manpower before issuing the inspection request to client / consultant in order to minimize any rejection on account of quality.
To follow the organization’s safety procedures and instructions to promote, create and maintain a safe and healthful work environment.
To follow ISO procedures and ensure to maintain the same.
To provide details /quantity of executed works to Project Manager every month in order to raise the monthly invoice.
IMPORTANT FEATURES OF THIS JOB:
Job holder to work at the construction sites and the site office.
Job holder needs to visit the Factory /processing unit at regular intervals to ensure smooth flow of the processed material.
COMUNICATIONS REQUIRED:
· Contractors – Through projects manager. Frequently as per the requirement.
· Clients – Frequently for seeking approvals & decisions on advice imparted through the projects managers.
· Other Department Heads – Intermittently on o/s matters arising out of projects.
· Project Engineers/Projects Managers – Continuous
AUTHORITY AND REPONSIBILITY TO SOLVE PROBLEMS AND MAKE DECISIONS:
The problem solving is highly complex in nature, as each project has its own characteristics. The requirement of the client varies quality of items available, time delayed due to procurement from external sources, and labor problem.
The magnitude of problem solving and decision making impacts both the project budgets and timeframe. The problem solving skills are required in the areas of project management, installation techniques and structural engineering.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, EXPERIENCES AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED.
· Graduate in Civil Engineering or Diploma in Civil Engineering
· A minimum of 3-5 years experience in execution of Aluminum and Glazing Works (Curtain Wall system, Cladding, Canopying, Skylight works etc.).
· Good organizational and Managerial skills
· Good written and verbal communication skills
· Leadership qualities to influence external / internal team for best results.
· Exhibit problem solving abilities to bridge the gap in working of Client / Consultants / Contractors.
Benefits:
Probation: Six (6) months
Nature of Position: Permanent
Monthly Salary Package: Payable in AED – to be negotiated at time of interview.
