JOB TITLE: QUANTITY SURVEYOR (Estimation) for ALUMINIUM WORKS

JOB LOCATION: DUBAI, U.A.E. or any location as required by the Company

JOB PURPOSE:
Quantity Surveyor is responsible for the accurate quantity take off and prepares the Bill of Quantity of Architectural aluminum works.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES of this JOB:
To evaluate and check all the tender documents provided by the clients which included architectural drawings, floor plans, specification, Bill of quantity etc.
Check and review bill of quantities based on the architectural drawings.
Segregate and measure all internal and external items according to scope of work and carry out quantity take-off.
Prepare sketches for curtain wall, doors and windows for estimation.
Co-ordination with clients for clarification and missing information.
Carry out the accurate quantity review of the awarded project to clear all the clarification before final agreement.
IMPORTANT FEATURES OF THIS JOB:
Evaluate and check all the tender documents provided by the clients which included architectural drawings, floor plans, specification, Bill of quantity etc.
COMUNICATIONS REQUIRED:
Internal:
· With the Commercial Manager to report performance against budgets, consult market trends and influence, and obtain support on a regular basis.
· On need basis, interaction with Technical department to gather technical detail of products for the project tendered and compiling of tender documents.
· Internal communications with Quality, Project, Technical, Production, Finance, Purchase and Commercial team.
External:
· Regular interaction with consultant/contractor to update present projects in progress and future project.
· Regular interaction with suppliers and subcontractors in order to get better offer from them, which is an ingredient for us, to offer competitive price to our customers.
AUTHORITY AND REPONSIBILITY TO SOLVE PROBLEMS AND MAKE DECISIONS:
The contract terms of each project is different, detailed understanding of each project is required with attention to each minute detail to assist in safe guarding company’s interest.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, EXPERIENCES AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED.
§ Degree in Engineering with 3-5 years of sound experience as QS in Estimation department.
§ Experience should be as quantity taking in Aluminium and Glass scope of work for the projects and an appreciation of general building construction is necessary.
§ Standard Method of measurement is must.
§ Good Exposures to computer, esp. M.S project etc.
§ Good communication and interpersonal skills
Benefits:
Probation: Six (6) months
Nature of Position: Permanent
Monthly Salary Package: Payable in AED – to be negotiated at time of interview.
