School Nurse
at ESOL in United Arab Emirates
-To administer appropriate first and emergency care.
-To deal with students and staff who may be unwell
-To dispense, when deemed appropriate, medications as requested in writing by parents
-To liaise with and advise parents regarding their children’s illnesses
-Maintaining an accurate, up-to date health record on every students with special attention to allergies, physical handicaps and specific limitations, which may impinge on a student’s performance at school.
-Advising and liaising with teachers regarding individual students health conditions.
-Acting as an information resource for parents and students
-Maintaining up-to-date technology in relation to records etc.
-Reviewing all school accidents and notifying, as appropriate, either the Elementary Principal, or the Secondary Principal, of serious accidents and identified safety hazards
-Providing non-prescription medicines and medical supplies in the Nurse’s office, and maintaining adequate First Aid supplies as required throughout the school.
-Being available as a resource person for consultation:
a)on matters of safety, particularly within Athletic and science programs
b)with teachers in areas of Health Education and other health related matters
c)with the Secondary Principal in dealing with local governmental and health authorities in health -related matter
-Maintaining a list of currently recommended doctors and dentists for UAS families and staff members, particularly those new in Dubai
Skills
-Applications invited for the position of a School Nurse to start immediately on full time basis.
-Candidate must be registered with the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Health and have an NOC from current employer.
-Candidate must possess good communication skills.
- Pediatric experience is a plus.
