Patient Account Technician

Job Responsibilities and Requirements : Responsible for accurate data collection, documentation, and data retrieval with computerized systems. Performs patient registration, insurance verification, co-payments, authorizations, and billing inquiry functions. Assists in maintaining medical records and filingsystems. Interface with multiple departments. Experience, Education and Training Minimum:Minimum of six to twelve months of medical billing and follow-up experience in a hospital patient account department, physician office or medical services organization. Minimum education requirement is a high school diploma or equivalent, and/or certification in medical office billing from an adult educational facility. Must be familiar with ICD-9/CPT coding, third party payer insurance verification processes and medical terminology.
