DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for ensuring that the Web site is easy to navigate and that it addresses the needs of the company and its customers;
• Monitor, improve, and update the performance of existing Web sites;
• Must work around CHM’s marketing policies and sales objectives;
• Making sure the browsers (the different programs used to access the Web site) can properly handle e-mail, transmit news, and download files. Customers using a variety of browsers or operating systems such as Windows or Macintosh should be able to access the site equally well;
• Ensure that the web site must be secure enough that the client can control who has access to confidential files yet open enough so that customers can easily access relevant information;
• Maintain a “firewall” that protects the client’s information from hackers or others who may try to steal or destroy it electronically
• Must update information contained on the Web site or in databases linked to the site and check the links on the site regularly to make sure that they are still working and that the information they provide is still current
• Must check website for bugs or other problems such as images that do not load properly

• Must ensure that all e-commerce transactions are carried out and followed through.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Tertiary qualification in Web design and or Information Technology is desirable.
• Ability to adapt and learn current and leading edge web techniques including Digital Rights Management (DRM) and related music/file delivery systems
• Must have a proven record in the design and implementation of internet systems and the carrying out of webmaster specific systems administration.
• Must have a broad knowledge of both frontend and backend web products utilizing various php / mysql systems, joomla cms platform and customization and medium level flash 8 actionscripting.
• Needs profieciency in the use of Adobe Dreamweaver and Flash 8 products, and competence in the customization of existing website systems looks and functionality level.
• Understanding of how Search Engine Optimisation and related web marketing systems work, along with some implementation skills and a proven track record.

• Must have experience in e-commerce and online transactions using paypal and other methods.
