Kids & Speciality QA Production Manager – Job Description (incorporating Factory Compliance mat cover)

Based in the South of China & Reporting to Head of QA
Main Duties
Focusing on manufacture of products for Kids, Olympics, Events & Gifts Preparing factories ahead of production of the standards required to meet brand and legal requirements. Communicating product specifications and testing standards, ensuring their full understanding of QA requirements for materials and construction. Managing the Factory Ethical & Technical Compliance Program with thee assistance of an admin assistant based in Icon Qingdao Office.

Specific Duties
• Communicate QA & brand specific requirements for materials, construction and testing to nominated factories.
• Ensure understanding of legal compliance and brand standards and requirements to nominated Factories.
• Gain clear visibility of where and when Icon products are being manufactured to ensure quality standards can be maintained.
• Liaise with Icon Kids and Olympics UK Technologists on product compliance issues with details of any issues arising and suggesting solutions.
• Resolve non-compliance issues quickly and ensure factories understanding. Communicate corrective actions taken to Icons QA Team.
• Make sure each factory carries out in-line and pre-shipment QC in accordance with the brand requirements.
• Ensure specific M&S and Tesco Technical audit procedures are being followed ensuring factories make the improvements necessary to pass the standards.
• Carry out Icon Quality Management Audits in nominated factories to evaluate capability as they are nominated for Icon business. Assessing factories for suitability to produce to Icon’s quality standards, making sure they can reach the standards required for construction, materials and product testing.
• Manage factory audit status with factories and helping with non-compliance actions and corrective action plans.
• Liaise with Brand in-country compliance teams on factory visits, audits and corrective actions
• Where Quality standards are not met investigate root causes, recommend and help implement corrective actions as agreed with Icon QA Team.
Requirements
• Degree or equivalent
• High standard of written & spoken English
• Three years minimum experience in production / factory environment
• Understanding of product / factory production processes
• Keen eye for detail, logical, numerate.
• Good communicator
• Ability to work on own as well as part of a team
• Good computer skills (excel / word / PowerPoint / Photoshop)

Icon Live Ltd has a comprehensive Health and Safety Policy. Risk Assessments have been completed for all departments and guidelines for general and fire safety have been posted in communal areas. It is the duty of all employees to familiarise themselves with the policy and directives. Copies are issued to all permanent members of staff and are discussed at Induction Training. Additional training sessions are held periodically to update and remind staff of company and individual responsibilities outlined by the policy.
