Mine Geologist

We are seeking a highly motivated team player who will participate within the geology team while conducting day to day underground/ core yard duties. You will be required to give geological input into mine design to maximise recovery, whilst providing an effective production reporting system and reconciliations.
Reporting directly to the Senior Geologists, the successful applicant will primarily be responsible for:
• Promotion of site safety, environmental and continuous improvement activities.
• Management of daily geological activities within a large underground production workforce.
• Grade Control and Exploration diamond drillhole core logging.
• Resource and exploration drillhole design using mine site package.
• Planning, scheduling and management of short and medium geological projects.
• QAQC procedures and reporting.
• Supervision of underground diamond drilling personnel.
Requirements:
• Tertiary qualifications in Geology.
• Previous experience in an underground mining environment
• Knowledge of grade control procedures.
• Excellence in interacting with multi technical and production departments.
• Well developed planning, analytical, report writing and communication skills.
• Be able to respond/complete requested projects within required deadlines.
• A high degree of computer literacy.
• Previous experience in Vulcan mine site package preferable but not a necessity.
• Previous experience with Acquire database package or similar preferable but not a necessity.
Operation is fly in/fly out from Perth on 8 days on/6 days off roster. On-site accommodation, including all messing facilities, is provided. Recreational activities include internet café, Foxtel television, swimming pool, tennis and squash courts, gymnasium and golf driving net.
A competitive salary package in line with qualifications and experience is on offer. Standard benefits include premium private health cover, salary continuance, salary packaging options and 20 days annual leave per year.
