IT Engineer

Provide support to internal departments and to sales activities
Activities
• Conducting proof of concept and solution evaluation to customer
• Providing Project Management Services inclusive of planning, installation, implementation, integration, configuration, testing, documentation and handover
• Configuring the system according to customer environment and their requirements
• Provide 24 x 7 field engineering support (on-call, rotating duty basis) inclusive of troubleshooting and resolution service to ECS customer base
• The support engineer may be required to travel regularly to a customer location (nationally/internationally) for activities such as on-site customer support, system installations and any other project related activities.
Job Requirement
• Diploma or Degree in Data Communications / Telecommunications / Computer Engineering or equivalent
• Experience and capability to manage projects independently
• Preferably good knowledge and hands-on-technical skills in:
• Network – LAN, WAN technologies, Network Security
• System – Windows, Solaris or other variance of UNIX, Hardware, Storage, Clustering software
• Software – Database (Oracle), Backup (Veritas Netbackup), VMware
• Attend training and attain certifications and perform any other activities as required by the company
• Self-motivated, willing to learn and a positive attitude
• Ability to work with customers on resolution of technical issues under pressure
