PHARMACY ASSISTANT
OVERALL PURPOSE:
Assists the Senior Pharmacist in the provision of medication and supplementary services to patients and other clients.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assists the Senior Pharmacist with overall control and effective running of the Pharmacy including other pharmacy management functions.
• Dispensing of medication.
• Ensure maximum safety of patients by providing advice on the appropriate selection, dosage and drug interaction, potential side effects and therapeutic effects of medicines.
• Assists and offers advice on the usage, side effects, contra-indications, drug interaction and proper storage of medication to patients and other clients.
• Assists with all aspects of ethical stock control including, re-ordering of stock, maintaining dedicated stock areas for organisation and expiry dates.
• Supervises and guides the Pharmacy Clerks.
• Keeps abreast of new developments in the Pharmaceutical field.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Education Requirement: College Graduate with degree in Pharmacy; Must hold an authentic license issued by Professional Regulation Commission (PRC)
Knowledge of Specific Functional Work: Appropriate use of facilities, and materials needed to do Pharmacy/Clinical work.
Industry / Work Experience Required: At least 2 years experience in related field
Special Skills / Behaviors Required: Interpersonal skills, good written and verbal communication skills; Supervisory skills; Must be accurate and keen to details.
