Cold Fusion Web Developer

COLD FUSION WEB DEVELOPER -- Omaha, NE
This position will meet the growing demand for in-house software development. The primary responsibility is to develop web based applications that meet the needs of the internal customer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
(Other duties may be assigned.)
Write applications in ColdFusion markup language, but Visual Basic, C or other languages may be used for occasional stand alone, traditional applications.
Builds user interface applications and back-end databases using various programming and scripting languages.
Assists in project planning and Web site design.
Creates prototypes and functional specifications for software projects.
Creates technical methods for engineering solutions to Web-based development problems.
Determines new Web technologies to utilize, such as browsers, languages, and plug-ins, based on company's needs.
Conceptualize long-term needs of Web development, and plans and manages related projects.
Makes suggestions on creating Web-based technical standards for specific Web sites and the company as a whole.
Will need to be proficient enough to stand in as an emergency network administrator when necessary.
This position requires that the developer work closely with internal customers to determine requirements for applications and then to work with those customers through the completion of the project.
Typical "engagements" are with sales, marketing, manufacturing and quality managers.
Depending on project scope, may work closely with the CIO during all phases of software development including requirements gathering and architectural planning.
Must be able to work in a productive manner with minimum supervision.
This position requires someone who likes making decisions, but who also realizes that our internal customers will make the majority of the strategic decisions regarding what an application can or cannot do.
The CIO may or may not be involved at the actual code development level as deemed necessary.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the following technical background:
Minimum 3 years experience Macromedia
ColdFusion Experience with Fusebox methodology.
Strong knowledge of basic SQL commands and concepts required Visual Basic experience preferred.
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server preferred.
Macromedia Flash integration with ColdFusion desired.
Strong communication skills - written and verbal.
Computer networking experience preferred.
