Career and Skills Development Officer
Rank of manager and reporting directly to the Managing Officer

Duties:

• Monitor the performance of cadets and trainees (electrician, administrator and fitter) and evaluate their long term career potential thru performance reports and contact interview with superiors and subordinates
• Work closely with the Crewing Officers to manage careers and development of officers and specialized ratings (Fitter, Cook, Administrator etc.)
• Work closely with Head of Human Resource to develop and conduct tests to benchmark career potential and development
• Work closely with Head of Human Resource to identify and deliver soft skills training to officers to further their career development

• Responsible for preparing relevant reports as basis for training plans and strategies

Qualifications:

• Candidates must not be more than 35 years of age and must have at least 5 years direct experience in maritime training, education or crew management
• A degree in Human Resources, Psychology or similar science will be an advantage

• Candidates must have strong understanding of human resource management thru study or experience. Experience in career counseling will be an advantage.

Skills:

• Candidates must possess superior people skills and work independently and is comfortable with both spoken and written English

• Candidates must be able to collate and interpret statistical data as part of management reports
