JOB SPECIFICATION – PLANNING ENGINEER / CONTROL ENGINEER for Aluminm Works
Department- Planning
This position reports to the Projects Planning Manager.
Job Overview:
Project Planning & Scheduling by ensuring quality, cost effectiveness and timeliness of projects
Requirements
•Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering with at least 3- 5 years of experience in planning & scheduling projects in GCC,
•Experience in Aluminum & glazing industry would be preferred.
•High organizational and managerial skills
•Good communications and negotiating skills
•Leadership qualities to influence external / internal team for best results.
•Contract management.
•Exhibit engineering problem solving abilities to bridge the gap in working of Consultants / Contractors.
Responsibilities:
•Projects Planning and Scheduling
•Preparation & Updating Projects status, labor histogram and financial forecast
•Production / delivery monitoring
•Resources monitoring
•Site monitoring
•Follow up of delay / disruption / variation claim support
•Contractual correspondence
•Variations Order review
•Entitlement claim preparation
•Departmental Procedure Implementation
•Projects planning & scheduling and preparation, negotiations of contract conditions.
Communication and Important Working Relationships:
•Consultants – Technical coordination – Continuously.
•Contractors – Contract Management – Regularly through progress meetings. Frequently during Tender /Award phase/contract agreements.
•Projects Managers – Frequently on a daily basis.
•Technical Department – Daily basis for coordination and architectural related decisions.
•Estimation Department – Regularly in every tender stage.
•Production Department - Frequently on a weekly basis.
•Other Department Heads – Intermittently on o/s matters arising out of projects.
Problem Solving, Discretion Applied, Decision Making Authority and Responsibility
The problem solving is highly complex in nature, as each project has its own characteristics. The requirement of the client varies. The magnitude of problem solving and decision making impacts both the project budgets and timeframe. The problem solving skills are required in the areas of project management, planning and variation order review.
